Old School RS Range Guide | F2P/P2P Range Training OSRS

Nov-05-2022 PST

The range is one of those crucial skills to train at Old School RS which could provide you the maximum accuracy of any combat kind. It is the best skill to use against monsters with higher Defence level because the participant can safe spot the monster from a space and fight safely. But some melee monsters have high Ranged Defence, which means you want to get a high Ranged level to conquer them. We will share with you the best methods for training OSRS Range.

General Tips

Recommended always to use the best armour you can manage when training Range. While utilizing throwing knives was a favorite method, steel or mithril darts are a much better option now, as they're cheaper, share the identical attack rate as iron knives, and have equivalent or greater range bonus.

Very best training weapons

You may click on the ranged icon onto your skill tab to see whatever you unlock when you're training ranged. It informs you each weapon, armor, and ammo you can use. All these weapons provide an Attack bonus, and paring them adds the strength bonus. A number of these weapons cant fire high-level arrows or high-level bolts.

Shadow of the Storm

The initial 1-32 level Can be skipped by finishing Shadow of the Storm (placing the experience reward on Ranged), Death to the Dorgeshuun and Horror from the Deep will give a total of 16,662.5 experience, elevating a level 1 Ranged to 32 without performing any real training.

F2P 1-99 Method

Level 1- 10

You will need to obtain a cowl, a pair of leather chaps, a set of leather vambraces and a leather body if they be able to obtain these products. These items are fairly simple to craft (in Al Kharid that is Lumbridge's neighbouring city) since they are created out of cowhides, and the materials are easy to acquire.

Level 10-20

You'll be back home at the northeast of the Lumbridge chickens. At level 10 you will move over to the cows. These levels will fly and because both places are usually busy, you will have the ability to pick up a great deal of feathers and cowhide to supplement your own prices.

Level 20-40

You will need to obtain a coif, a studded body, and a set of studded chaps. The studded body and chaps can be marketed in Varrock though Horvik but these things are normally in low supply because only members can craft them. The coif can be purchased in the Champions', put in your Coif and Studded chaps, for those who have a defence level 20 or over wield the Studded body, in case you've got a defence level less than 10 maintain the Leather body, and between 10 and 20 use the difficult leather body.

level 40-60

Now you can use green dragonhide chaps and vambraces, each of which can be purchased in the Champions' Guild. The green dragonhide body can only be worn after attaining Defence and Ranged level of 40 and after completing the quest Dragon Slayer. If your defence is lower than 40 keep the leather body, Hard Leather body or Studded body. If not and you've completed Dragon Slayer put on the Green Dragon Hide body also. Players who'd completed the quest dragon slayer and had fulfilled the minimum level requirements should equip these items whenever possible since the complete green dragon armour can greatly increase accuracy and protection considerably greater than other free-to-play ranging armour. From level 60 and if you use at least mithril arrows, these monsters will be accessible to you: Fire Giants, Lesser Demons, Bloodveld (50 Slayer), Turoth (55 Slayer, wide arrows), Ogres, Zogres and Skogres.

level 60-99

When reaching level 60, the fastest way forward still are these lowly Hill Giants, Skeletons and such. From now on, F2F players are confined to Lesser Demons as the most appropriate monster accessible, and they ought to switch to them from about level 65. Two very good places: Beneath Karamja Volcano and on Crandor Island. Under level 65 Lesser Demons aren't possible for fast xp. There's one higher levelled monster accessible which includes a low enough range defence level: Ankou from the Security Stronghold Dungeon. There are a few very good safe-spots about, but they do attack you on sight, so make certain to bring some food.

P2P 1-99 Method

Level 1 - 10

To start training Range, you can begin by killing chickens in the Lumbridge chicken farm. If you're starting, it's also suggested that you collect their feathers to market for more ammo.

Level 10 - 20

At level 10 you will proceed to the cows just northeast of the Lumbridge chickens. These levels will fly , and because both places are usually busy, you will have the ability to pick up a great deal of feathers and cowhide to supplement your own prices.

Level 20 - 40

At level 20, you must move into the Stronghold of Security and visit the minotaurs situated on the first floor. From here until level 40 you'll be killing these and the wolves as you reach a higher level. You may use the safe spot that's situated in the very first room on the right. It is going to be in the back of the room behind the stone fencing. You can shoot through the fence, this is suggested for low-level players.

Level 1-32

Completing Shadow of the Storm (placing the experience reward on Ranged), Death to the Dorgeshuun and Horror from the Deep will give a total of 16,662.5 experience, elevating a level 1 Ranged into 32 without doing any real training.

Level 1-45

Cannoning caged Ogres could be murdered in the Combat Training Camp after finishing Biohazard and Dwarf Cannon to use a cannon. With a cannon here is rather a bit of exp and can cause relatively quick levelling at historical levels. The quickest way to get XP in a lower level is with OSRS Cannon, because there are no level requirements to use the cannon. But, using a cannon is rather expensive for the cannonballs, and many players might be unable to afford it.

Level 1-80

In case you have OSRS gold to invest, the quickest way to get XP in a lower level is with OSRS Cannon, also called Dwarf Multicannon. Obtaining from 1-80 from cannoning caged ogres from the Combat Training Camp is a fast but expensive way to level Ranges OSRS. There are no level requirements to use the cannon, you want to finish Biohazard and Dwarf Cannon, and it gives a whole lot of XP. The cannonballs, however, are very expensive and several players can not afford them.

Level 40-60

At level 40 Ranged it is highly suggested to visit Sand Crabs on the south-west shore of Zeah.you can wear Green dragonhide armour (requires 40 Defence and conclusion of Dragon Slayer for the body). Upon conclusion of the Fremennik Trials, you may even use an Archer helm (with 45 Defence) and spined armour that has stats equal to green dragonhide. Switch to blue dragonhide armour at level 50.

Level 60-80

You might also wish to take this chance to grab yourself a Rune Crossbow for level 61. This is the preferred weapon for the majority of players until you reach about level 85.

For those players that need a challenge, and a few better loot than giants, kill lesser demons in Karamja (or trapped at the Wizards tower if you would prefer) with the best arrows you can afford to purchase. These beasts are a much more formidable opponent, but they fall much better loot and may be more enjoyable than dumb giant-killing. These will keep you occupied up to level 80 as well.

Level 70-99

Nightmare Zone with superb range potion and absorption potions can be a viable training method for anybody who can't afford chinchompas. With a blowpipe and steel darts, experience caps around 85k per hour, with minimal price. Slower alternatives for gamers on a budget are using a rune crossbow with wide bolts, magic shortbow with rune arrows or knives/darts more powerful than mithril. This will yield between 60 and 70k per hour, based on armour and level.

Level 80-99

Red Chinchompas can be used to kill Skeletons from the Ape Atoll Dungeon. You can do it at a lower level, but it is better to wait at least till 75 Ranged. You could even use Grey chinchompas, as they are cheaper, but they have the slowest XP prices. It's important to note that in the event that you die, all your Chinchompas will be missing. When you finish Monkey Madness II, you may use the chinchompa method Maniacal monkeys, which enriches your XP rates appreciably. Getting to 99 by Chinning can cost you over 50 000 000 with Red chinchompas, which are a costly investment, but this method will provide you the best experience from the game.
